We compare 30+ buyers
{{ v.name }}

Find your buyers before sharing your data.

01

Stop wasting weeks on the wrong buyer

We compare buyer requirements up front so you start with relevant routes. Each buyer has different terms, timelines and data needs.

02

Your data stays out of this form

We never ask for files, logins or sample rows. Agree the scope, safeguards and preparation process with each buyer before providing records.

03

Free for your company

If a deal closes, the buyer may pay DataQuote a referral fee. You pay nothing, and we disclose it on every estimate.

04

You stay in control

You choose which buyers receive your introduction and can turn down any offer. Make intros shares your contact details and assessment only with the buyers you select and approve.

Owner response reflects one enquiry, not a typical response time. Payment models, quotes and time to payment are shown separately. Missing terms need a written quote. A calculator estimate is not a confirmed payout.

Know who you're dealing with

Some buyers pay a fixed price. Others broker your data and take a cut.

Fixed-price buyer

They quote a fixed price for your data

You agree a price up front and get paid that amount. What they later earn from the data doesn't change your payment. Simple to compare: one number per offer.
You get
An agreed amount and payment schedule
You give up
Additional upside if the data is licensed again
Examples: Corpus, Polyshares, Turing. Confirm the scope and payment terms of each offer.
Marketplace or broker

They broker your data to buyers and take a cut

You get a share of each sale, minus their fee. Total payout depends on how often the data sells. Ask what percentage they keep before you sign.
You get
Potential upside from repeat licences
You give up
A known final total and fixed payment date
Examples: Troveo, Defined.ai, AI Datafield
How long it takes

A typical deal, week by week

7 weeks on average with DataQuote. 11 on your own. Most of the difference is time not spent with buyers that were never going to fit.

Week 1

Introduction

A first call with the buyer's data partnerships team to confirm fit.

Weeks 1–3

Scoping and rights review

You agree what's in scope, what's excluded, and confirm you have the rights. Usually under NDA.

Weeks 3–6

De-identification and packaging

Confirm where records move and who prepares them. Some buyers prepare and de-identify records after an agreed transfer; others work inside your systems.

Weeks 6–7

Contract and payment

You sign the license and payment terms. Marketplaces keep paying as the data licenses again.

How to judge a buyer

Four things to check before you sign.

Funding and age

Check the company behind the contract and its payment terms. Funding and company size give context, but do not guarantee your payment.

Permitted use

Training and evaluation only is common. Make sure the contract rules out publishing or reselling your data.

When you get paid

Get the schedule in writing: at signing, on delivery, or per sale. Ask what happens if they don't resell the data.

Who de-identifies, and how

Ask whether it happens inside your systems or theirs, to what standard, and whether you approve the result.

New to selling data?

What you need to know before you talk to a buyer.

What buyers pay for

Records of how real work gets done: support tickets and their resolutions, CRM and sales history, project and code history, SOPs and internal docs, and team chat. AI labs use it to teach models to do business tasks.

What makes it worth more

More years of history, more people using the tools, and more connected systems. Data a buyer can follow across chat, docs and operational tools is worth more than any one system alone.

You license it. You don't sell it.

You keep ownership and grant a buyer defined rights, such as training and evaluation only. That is also why the same data can earn more than once.

Exclusive or non-exclusive

Exclusive limits reuse within the agreed scope. Non-exclusive may allow other licences. Compare the offered price, duration and permitted uses before choosing.

How you get paid

Common structures are a flat fee, an ongoing licence, usage-based pricing, or a revenue share. Some contracts combine an initial payment with later payouts. Those later amounts depend on the agreed terms, usage or completed licences.

What gets removed

Confirm who removes names, contact details and client identities, where that work happens, and what safeguards apply. Some buyers prepare records after transfer. Agree the process before providing anything.

Common questions

Is it legal to license my company's data?+

Company data can be licensed when the proposed use and permissions support it. Confirm the collection, customer terms and permitted uses with the people responsible for your data. Removing names alone does not settle those questions.

Why not sell directly to AI labs like OpenAI or Anthropic?+

A direct lab relationship can be worth exploring. The programmes we compare give you documented supplier routes and requirements to evaluate alongside it. Compare the data they want, the written offer and the time to payment, then choose the route that fits your company.

Do I give DataQuote any data?+

No. We only use the answers you type into the estimate. We never ask for files, logins or sample rows.

How does DataQuote make money?+

Buyers may pay us a referral fee if your company signs a deal after our introduction. You never pay us.

Is the estimate an offer?+

No. Where a public calculator has been checked for your exact inputs, we show that result. Otherwise, you need a quote. Only the buyer can make an offer, after reviewing your data with you.

Do I have to accept an offer?+

No. You can meet a buyer, review their terms and walk away at any point before signing.

Will my company be named?+

That is set in your contract with the buyer. Several buyers state that partner companies are not identified. Confirm it in writing before you sign.
